BQAC was founded on October 16th, 2010 by Ed Negron, Michael Oboza, Adrienne McCue, Karen McReady, Kaitlin Drury, Noel Spain and others with the mission of serving the needs of the Bisexual and Queer community locally in Chicago.

In 2014, BQAC became a 501(c)3 non for profit.

In 2016, MAP’s Invisible Majority Report on bi+ disparities was published. BQAC along with Bisexual Organizing Project (MN), Bi Resource Center (Boston), Los Angeles Bi Task Force, & BiNetUSA were the bi orgs that contributed to this report.

In 2019, BQAC’s board members had their first retreat for a strategic vision in order to serve our bisexual and queer community with more efficiency and outreach.

In 2020, our board member Auggie Rodriguez created a documentary about our first 10 years of history as an organization shown at our 10th anniversary GALA via zoom due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Today, BQAC continues to educate and empower and provide resources to bisexual and queer persons through programming, educational seminars and partnerships with other non for profit organizations.
